Climb 25 different mountains!
Hiking is a way of life for those of us living so close to the Rockies, so I thought it would be a great add in to my adventures. I wouldn’t call myself an avid hiker, but I do hike often with my puppy at Castlewood Canyon that is minutes away from my house–which is nothing compared to hiking a mountain. I did climb a few mountains this summer, but I will have to go way more often next summer in order to do 25. There are over 50 mountains that are 14,000 ft+ in Colorado alone, so there won’t be an issue with variety in this one!
Taking it Out of State
My first challenge I announced was 25 different states that I haven’t been to before, so I figure it would be amazing to see some of those states from a higher elevation. A blogger friend of mine has posted so many of her amazing hikes in Montana recently that I am dying to experience for myself! Check out her post about one of her hikes in Glacier National Park by clicking here. I figure that since I will be going on so many amazing trips to see different states, I might as well see the beautiful natural wonders while I am there.
Feeling of Accomplishment
There are few things that compare to the feeling you get when you reach the summit of a mountain. Although there may be beautiful things to see on the way up, it is just amazing to feel as though the only things above you are clouds. Some hikes are harder than others, but you still get to look down and see how far you’ve come and that is a feeling I love! It’s a feeling you just can’t get running around a track or climbing the stair stepper at the gym. It is that unbelievable view you see from the top that just makes you feel so grateful! If all plans go accordingly, I will capture that feeling at least 25 times in the next year!
If you have any info on mountains or have a favorite inside or outside of CO, please comment and let me know!
Thanks for all of your love and support in this journey!
